Welcome back to the Tweet Be Happy studio. Where it’s been a busy stamping weekend. Besides being a fantastic weekend our weather in Iowa for February was in the 50s. Took advantage of it walked our half mile lane. 

Sale-a-bration ends in a few days. Monday, February 28th. Where has January and February 2022 gone. Here’s a few cards I created with the Sunshine and Rainbow #158126 6x6 designer series paper (dsp) and the darling Driving By #158099 6 rubber stamp set. 

A candy apple red convertible is on my bucket list! Plus when I was little, queens rode in convertibles. This card is scraps of dsp on pale papaya card stock and a basic black second layer. A white doily from Heart and Home suite (page 59 of the mini catalog) rumpled to give a vintage look. 

Did you notice the smaller snow drifts in the background? We are suppose to get .5 to 3 inches tomorrow. Our acreage is pretty with the blue sky, clouds, windmills, and the brown ground. Winter is a pretty season especially when it is 56 degrees. 

This conversion van speaks flower power! Yes, I was raised in the 60s and 70s. Hippies. Piling into a van. Traveling the open highway. Visiting college friends. Rock n roll era. 

This black and white gingham ribbon is a hoot! Adding ribbon, matte black dots, and a basic black card stock flag finish this masculine greeting card. 

Still can’t believe I was able to photograph these cards outside. There was a warm sunshine and no breeze. This is another Rainbows and Sunshine dsp on magenta madness card. Add the white doily, black and white gingham ribbon, and just jade gems. Takes the beauty of the retro van to new heights. Plus, it’s fun to color with the Stampin' blends.  Did you know they come in pairs  a light and a dark of certain ink colors. Makes shading even easier.  If you’ve not tried a blender pen, try a set today.  I’d suggest crumb cake, pool party, old olive, and/or magenta madness colors.  

When I color with blender pens it’s relaxing  I outline with the dark color then blend in with the light colored pen. It’s fun to blend in other colors too.  Gives an old fainted paint coloring job on this van. Take your time, as it takes practice.  But, practicing is the fun part.

Another technique is the blending brushes. Do you see the light gray shading around the pale papaya convertible. Makes it appear dust or aged. Another fun coloring technique. It is done with make up brushes lightly applied to the ink pads. Then rub off the first dab and apply to the card stock.  I know. It sounds crazy. But, its crazy FUN. 

This is my work space as I card. It starts out clean. As I cut and stamp my mind changes. Oh let’s try this. No not quite like that. More like this! It inspires me. So when I’m called away; I leave everything. As I enter the studio again there will be one or two colors, techniques, stamps, or cardstock that speak to me. It’s incredible. It makes me happy when I need to unwind. Stampin’ Up does the coordination for us. Their suites can make many card samples. Or take this and that from other stamp sets to create a new inspiration. ❤️⭐️🤩

2022 has been a magnificent two months so far. Saleabration has been good to all of us. In June the new annual 2022 catalog will be released.  So that means we will loose the 2010-2022 set of the in-colors, be introduced to new in-colors, and learn of the retired stamp sets.  So examine your Wish List to make sure you have gotten everything.  If you haven’t, then order before February 28th during Sale-a-bration to earn Free products with every $50 ordered.  It’s a double your dollars.
